Case Study
Requirement:
Entering into a three way pitch and winning, Creative Jar were commissioned to with the delivery of a bespoke Flash application to be distributed and run on PC's and laptops throughout Comet stores UK wide.
The core requirement was twofold; to replace the typical Windows environment with a presentation that better informs the general public on the system features and other related Comet services, and to assist in-store rep's as a sales tool.
Creative:
Careful planning, storyboarding and wire-framing in the early stages was vital to assist in evolving the creative and user interface of the flash application. Equally each animation had to be storyboarded in detail along with supported outline designs. An entire illustrated theme was approved and our designers set to the mammoth task of treating a large array of Comet PC products into vector format.
The whole presentation is made up of micro animations as a means to explain common questions such as 'what is cache?' and 'how does memory work?'; sequenced together in a master holding presentation. Time was short with a two week deadline so our team worked pretty much round the clock seven days a week to hit the delivery date. The end result being a phenomenal piece of multimedia!
Technical:
Flash was always the package of choice for the animation and art-working, packaged and distributed as a standalone application to install off CD-Rom and DVD across Comet stores in the United Kingdom.
On-Time and On-Budget:
The final multimedia presentation was delivered on-time and within budget. Even after being advised to not illustrate the PC products, our view was that it looked better and was worth the extra work even at cost to profitability.
As such, and even under great pressure to hit the two week delivery our creative team produced one the finest pieces of animated multimedia they'd worked on. Comet's marketing manager was naturally blown away at not only our commitment and dedication, but creativity and passion.
