Case Study
Requirement:
After high recommendation, Creative Jar were commissioned to design and develop an innovative Flash based game to be used as a marketing tool for Smiths Medical's products. As a complete move away from anything that Smiths Medical had worked on before, the game marked an exciting opportunity for both their marketing team and Creative Jar. The brief was to design a game which was fun and easy to play and could represent 12 of their key products in the shape of players.
Creative:
After detailed planning and wireframes, our creatives devised an illustrative style and character set for the game based around the theme of horse racing. Riders and horses alike were representative of products, whereby combining certain products (horses and riders) the user could experience an improved or lesser performance. A highly styled look was created and assets worked through for integration with the custom game engine.
Technical:
Built entirely in Flash, the game engine uses complex logic for game play and product combinations. Storing variables for the winners and naturally product promotion, the game is feature rich with classic game functions such as mail-a-mate and a leader board. The core engine was developed to be 'recyclable' and therefore can be applied to further game models.
Launch Success:
The game was launched to a core target audience and existing customer with much success. As an awareness of both Smiths Medical and this product set, the game has been hugely successful and Creative Jar is already planning the next suite of games for 2008.
