BoilerJuice, founded back in 2004, wanted to make ordering heating oil simpler, cheaper and more environmentally friendly. Joining with the DCC Group in 2009 they began to work with a broad range of suppliers to get the cheapest price for end users.
The website needed to offer an instant way for users to receive a competitive price for the delivery of central heating oil. However, it was hard to navigate around and users were not taking advantage of all the benefits.
BoilerJuice had a strong internal development team but needed a creative makeover and an understanding of how user experience could be improved.
After extensive workshops to gain a clear insight into the customer base Creative Jar set about developing complete wireframes to help define a more efficient shopping experience.
With the basis of an easier site for users to manoeuvre around, the website needed a visual overhaul to implement the call to actions. The development of animated characters meant that the visuals would go hand in hand with the upcoming television advert and email marketing strategy.
The front-end templates were developed in CSS and HTML before being handed over to the development team to implement. Creative Jar storyboarded the television advert, animating it in 3D before a specialist TV agency added the voiceover. The advert was launched at a regional level across Sky channels.
